Define Freedom

Jason de Koff

The guy pushed all the buttons,
the day he left office.
The result was evident,
when viewed from space.
Only small pockets of green
on the landscape below,
likely where groups were engaging
and bloodbaths were rampant
for what small reserves remained.
It was a story he had witnessed
many times in many places.
Even with interventions,
the script was the same.
Another failed experiment,
and before the planet imploded,
he made mental preparations
to tweak that free will some more.
