In Breath

H.E. Fisher

meditation’s disquieted pitch

                                of space

punched

                        from our city

i hold                breath

as if there is volume to spare

and count              the holes

we make on this island

for angels’ muted trumpets

and sound the hollows

to be filled

        at rest

as if by loss’s yardstick

    there is no measure
